SWISS Airline to Resume Tel Aviv Flights in July After Suspension

SWISS International Air Lines has announced that it will resume flights between Switzerland and Tel Aviv in July, following a suspension that began in March due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The airline stated that it is currently carrying out operational preparations to restart the route, including crew scheduling, aircraft allocation, and coordination with internal and external partners. SWISS also confirmed that it is engaging in discussions with its social partners to ensure a smooth restart of operations.

Several airlines within the Lufthansa Group have already planned to resume Tel Aviv services from June, but SWISS has chosen a later restart date in July to ensure full operational readiness.

The suspension of flights was originally introduced in response to security concerns linked to the war in the Middle East. SWISS said passenger safety remains its top priority when adjusting flight schedules.

In addition to the Tel Aviv update, the airline confirmed extended suspensions on other routes. Flights to Dubai will remain suspended until September 13, 2026, while services to Beirut will stay suspended until October 24, 2026.

SWISS continues to adjust its international network based on geopolitical developments and operational feasibility. The airline said it will continue to monitor the situation closely and update schedules if conditions change.

The decision reflects the ongoing impact of regional instability on global aviation routes, particularly in the Middle East, where several airlines have modified or temporarily suspended operations.

SWISS to Cut Administrative Staff by 10% in Cost-Saving Drive

Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has announced plans to reduce its administrative workforce by around 10% as part of expanded cost-saving measures.

SWISS Chief Executive Officer Jens Fehlinger confirmed the decision in an interview published by the Swiss newspaper NZZ am Sonntag.

According to Fehlinger, the airline aims to lower administrative staffing levels without implementing forced redundancies.

Instead, SWISS plans to achieve the reduction through voluntary departures and incentive-based programmes designed to encourage employees to temporarily or permanently leave their positions.

The airline is reportedly offering financial incentives similar to measures previously introduced for cabin crew members.

Under the new programme, administrative staff who choose unpaid leave could receive compensation worth up to 20% of the base salary savings generated by their absence.

The move comes as airlines across Europe continue adjusting operational costs amid changing travel demand, rising competition, and economic pressures within the aviation sector.

SWISS has already introduced several efficiency measures in recent months to strengthen long-term financial stability while maintaining flight operations and customer services.

Industry analysts say many airlines are increasingly focusing on reducing back-office expenses and streamlining administration rather than cutting frontline operational staff.

Despite the planned reduction, SWISS stated that it remains committed to avoiding compulsory job cuts and maintaining a stable working environment for employees.

The airline continues to play a major role in Switzerland’s aviation industry and international connectivity.

SWISS Flight Diverted to Kazakhstan After Co-Pilot Falls Ill.

A Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) flight travelling from Seoul to Zurich made an emergency diversion to Almaty after the co-pilot suffered a medical emergency during the journey.

The airline confirmed that the Airbus A350 safely arrived back in Zurich on Friday morning at 6:45am with 221 passengers on board.

According to SWISS, the incident occurred on Wednesday while the aircraft was flying from Seoul to Zurich. After the co-pilot became unwell, three doctors travelling on the flight provided immediate first aid assistance.

Medical professionals on board later advised the crew to divert the aircraft so the co-pilot could receive urgent medical treatment.

The plane landed safely in Almaty, where emergency services transported the co-pilot to a local hospital for further care.

SWISS stated that the co-pilot remains in Kazakhstan but is currently in good health. Another crew member has stayed behind to support him.

All passengers who returned to Zurich on Friday were originally travelling on the diverted flight. Six passengers reportedly chose alternative travel arrangements from Almaty instead of waiting for the rescheduled service.

The airline also arranged onward travel connections for passengers continuing to other destinations after arriving in Zurich.

SWISS apologised for the disruption caused by the unexpected diversion and emphasized that the health and safety of passengers and crew remain its top priority.

French Man Arrested After Alleged Sexual Assault on Swiss Flight from Zurich to Miami.

A serious incident aboard a Swiss International Air Lines flight has drawn international attention after a French national was arrested following allegations of sexual assault. The incident reportedly occurred on flight LX64 traveling from Zurich to Miami on April 28.

According to reports published by People magazine, a 48-year-old French man allegedly assaulted a 29-year-old female passenger while she was asleep in the business class section of the aircraft. Witnesses onboard reportedly observed the incident and immediately alerted the cabin crew. A flight attendant also confirmed noticing unusual behavior during the flight.

When contacted by 20 Minuten, the airline confirmed the incident and stated that immediate action was taken to ensure passenger safety. The accused passenger was promptly moved to a Premium Economy seat. During the process of collecting his belongings, he allegedly attempted to hand a note to the victim, reportedly saying, “You are beautiful when you sleep.”

Cabin crew later woke the woman and informed her of the situation. She was said to be shocked and confirmed that she did not know the accused individual prior to the flight.

Upon landing in Miami, U.S. authorities detained the suspect for questioning. Initial reports indicate that he denied the allegations but later admitted to touching the passenger, claiming he did not consider it serious and that he was attempting to obtain her phone number.

On April 29, charges were formally filed against him in a federal court in southern Florida. He is currently being held in custody in Miami, and no official statement has yet been released by his legal representative.

Swiss International Air Lines stated that it is fully cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation. The airline also emphasized that strict measures, including potential flight bans, may be imposed on passengers who violate safety and conduct regulations.
